Why it can work

  • Strong public demand signals

Why it might fail

  • Crowded market, so prices can fall fast
  • Games Workshop reportedly froze seller accounts through a 2025 Florida Schedule A case, sent a cease and desist to Galactic Armory, sued Ghamak, and was reported in a mass Cults3D ban in August 2026, while the scope has not been checked against court filings
  • No reliable public price found

Be aware before you sell

I found no route to a licence from Games Workshop, and a file designer's merchant licence does not clear any claim Games Workshop may have. Games Workshop reportedly froze seller accounts through a 2025 Florida Schedule A case, sent a cease and desist to Galactic Armory, sued Ghamak, and was reported in a mass Cults3D ban in August 2026, while the scope has not been checked against court filings. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

Demand looks strong but this is the most actively enforced niche in the category, and frozen payouts would hurt far more than one takedown. I would not sell these, and no price was recorded because the risk rules out the product whatever it earns.

Competition

Public signals suggest high competition.

We have not confirmed any yet.

Make it your own
  • Design for one game format, not one franchise
  • Use your own creature or theme, never a brand name
  • Sell it finished and painted at a higher price
Where to find 3D files

We do not link files for this product because of safety or brand risk.

Demand signals
  • Sherwood News covered how 3D printing has changed the Warhammer hobby source
  • Games Workshop reportedly took a multi-seller Florida court action in 2025, which suggests the market is big enough to pursue source
