Why it can work

  • Low brand or licence risk if the design is your own

Why it might fail

  • No major warning found, test small first

Be aware before you sell

Designing your own adapter from measured port sizes avoids file licence questions, otherwise check the terms of each MakerWorld or STL finder file. Tool brands such as Ridgid, DeWalt and Festool should appear only as compatibility statements, not as product branding. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

Roughly $20 for a part that is small to print is the best price-to-material ratio seen in this category, and the problem is too specific for most buyers to solve with mass-market parts. Exact fit per tool model decides it, and a wrong diameter means returns.
