Why it can work

  • Low brand or licence risk if the design is your own

Why it might fail

  • Under $2 estimated profit per print hour

Be aware before you sell

Free Printables dispensers exist, but their licences were not verified, and one combined model is sold at $5. Generic storage carries little brand risk, unless a design copies a specific seller's dispenser. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

A gravity-fed dispenser at about $25 looks like the only version with margin, because plain boxes drop to about $4. It needs a distinct mechanism and clean tolerances, since jamming would ruin reviews.
