Why it can work

  • Original plastics crack and yellow with age
  • Collectors pay $60 for a small bezel
  • Repair supports and small cases print quickly

Why it might fail

  • Full shells need a big bed and many hours
  • Popular files often ban commercial use
  • Hobbyists in this crowd often print their own

Be aware before you sell

Some popular case files are non-commercial and no-derivatives Creative Commons, so check before selling prints. Commodore and Amiga names and logos have owners, so leave badges off and use compatibility wording. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

Buyers are devoted and pay for repair parts, and the best margin sits in bezels, Gotek cases and repair supports rather than full shells. It works with a focused catalogue sold on eBay and retro forums, and it fails on large shells where warping and print time eat the margin.
