Why it can work

  • Tradespeople already spend heavily on this ecosystem
  • Press roundups send free traffic
  • Some specialised holders reach about $45

Why it might fail

  • Basic parts are down to about $4
  • No published load ratings raises liability
  • Milwaukee can launch its own version at any time

Be aware before you sell

Many Packout files sit on MakerWorld, where selling prints needs a valid licence, so check each file or design your own. Milwaukee and Packout are brand names, and no takedown reports were found, but use 'compatible with' wording and no logos. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

Trade buyers are proven and spend freely, but simple feet and cleats already sell for about $4. It works with an original product for a specific trade such as a glue and level holder at about $45, and it fails with one more generic foot or a part that breaks on site.
