Where each $13.50 sale goes

Filament, power, your time $11.54Marketplace fees $1.97Left from this sale $2.49

One sale ties up the printer for about 11 hours. $2.49 ÷ 11 h = $0.22 per print hour.

At the mid price, if it sells. Shipping not included.

Why it can work

  • Bakers need repeat display pieces
  • Custom names and themes are hard to buy cheaply

Why it might fail

  • Injection-moulded stands sell near $10
  • Large stands tie up printer time
  • Food-adjacent use raises hygiene questions

Be aware before you sell

Check each model licence, since some designers sell commercial use separately. Generic shapes carry little risk, but themed party stands must avoid characters. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.

How to get a file you may sell

  1. Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
  2. Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
  3. Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take

Mass-market plastic stands cost about what a large print costs to make, and no printed retail price was confirmed. It only works as a custom, themed stand for bakers rather than a generic display.
