Why it can work
- Limited positive evidence so far
Why it might fail
- The Multiboard name and tiles belong to its creator, and forum users call the licence restrictive or unclear
- Thin public evidence, so treat these numbers with care
- No reliable public price found
Be aware before you sell
Thangs pages show a paid membership tier with a commercial licence to sell printed Multiboard parts up to $50k a year, while the HSW licence was only reported second hand as CC4, so read both before selling. The Multiboard name and tiles belong to its creator, and forum users call the licence restrictive or unclear. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.
How to get a file you may sell
- Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
- Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
- Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take
Tiles use a lot of filament, the audience already owns printers, and no retail price was found. Only an own-design French cleat range avoids the licence cost, and that is a different product.
Competition
Public signals suggest medium competition.
We have not confirmed any yet.
Make it your own
- Solve one annoying problem for one type of pet or home
- Offer it with a name or a custom size
- Use durable materials and state care limits honestly
Where to find 3D files
Use these for research. Check each licence and never assume you may sell a print. Search links show live results.
- Multiboard Tile Starter Pack Licence: Page says restricted by licensing terms; commercial tier from $10 a month
