Why it can work
- Low brand or licence risk if the design is your own
- Seasonal demand: Autumn and winter for seed feeders, spring and summer for hummingbirds, by judgement
Why it might fail
- Thin public evidence, so treat these numbers with care
- No reliable public price found
Be aware before you sell
The Thangs window feeder is sold through subscription, so its terms for selling prints need checking. Little brand risk, but a popular designer's window feeder should not be resold without permission. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.
How to get a file you may sell
- Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
- Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
- Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take
No Etsy price was confirmed, and these are big, slow prints that need PETG or ASA because PLA warps in direct sun. Nectar feeders also hold sugar water in layer lines, which is a hygiene problem for wildlife, so only a dry-seed window design is worth testing.
Competition
Public signals suggest medium competition.
We have not confirmed any yet.
