Why it can work
- Low brand or licence risk if the design is your own
- Seasonal demand: November to December gifting
Why it might fail
- Thin public evidence, so treat these numbers with care
- No reliable public price found
Be aware before you sell
Paid files such as the Gumroad dock need their licence read first, and Etsy reportedly wants your own design. Apple product names should appear only as compatibility wording, and no related takedown was found. Etsy asks for your own original design, so a licensed file may not qualify.
How to get a file you may sell
- Make your own. Tinkercad is free and enough for simple shapes.
- Buy a commercial licence. Many designers on Cults3D, MyMiniFactory and Etsy sell one. Read what it allows.
- Use open licences. CC0 and CC BY allow selling prints. NC does not. Filter by licence on Printables or MakerWorld and keep a screenshot.

Our take
No finished price was found, so margin is unproven even though the product is a natural gift. It depends on charger fit, because a design tied to one charger or phone width shrinks the market.
Competition
Public signals suggest medium competition.

Make it your own
- Fit it to one device or desk setup people search for
- Add a useful extra, like a cable slot or hidden storage
- Offer colour pairs that match popular setups
